(xxx) Recommendation that expatriation pay should be pensionable and payable both while an officer is resident in the Colony and

while on leave. (paragraph 43).

(xxx1) Recommendation that expatriation pay should not be taken into account when deductions are made for the rent of Government

quarters or for assessing salary for high cost of living allowance. (paragraph 43).

(xxxii) Recommendation that deductions should be made from expatriation pay as well as basic salary for the purposes of the Widows'

and Orphans' Pension Scheme.

(xxxiii) Recommendation that expatriate women officers should receive expatriation pay at the same rates as male officers.(paragraph 1,3). (xxxiv) Recommendation that in general allowances should be prescribed only in respect of reimbursable expenditure incurred in the

porformance of duty, of duties extraneous to normal duties and of special riskb. (paragraph 44).

(xxxv) Recommendation that the privilege enjoyed by certain officers of occupying Government quarters free of charge should cease.

(paragraph 45).

(xxxvi) Recommendation that rent allowances should be abolished. (paragraph 45).

(xxxvii) Recommendation that house allowance should no longer be treated as part of pensionable emoluments. (paragraph 46). (xxxviii) Recommendation that revised basic salaries should include addition of one sixth in lieu of quarters or house allowance.

(xxxix) Recommendation that where officers are provided with Government quarters an economic rent not exceeding 16.2/3% of an officer's

salary should be charged, subject to certain "oeilings". (paragraph 46).

(x1) Recommendation that where officers are required in connexion with their duties to live in self-contained Government quarters

the rent deduction should be appropriately reduced. (paragraph 46).

(x11) Recommendation that where local married officers are required to live communally in barracks or coolie quarters, the deduction

for ront should be of a nominal percentage only. (paragraph 46).

Recommendation that if rents for appropriate accommodation advance beyond one sixth of an officer's salary an appropriate adjustment should be made in the cost of living allowance. (paragraph 46).

Recommendation that Government should build or acquire quarters where it is advantageous for the staff of particular departments to be housed in the vicinity of their work. (paragraph 47).

Recommendation that Government should, in view of the shortage of European style houses, continue as far as possible to provide quarters for expatriate officers. (paragraph 47).
